surely we need some thing other than perpetual silence from God right? its got to a stage where the very term GOD itself has become more of a joke. dont you think its time we put a morotorium on the word God and replace it with a term such as GROUND WATER as Robert Funk once wrote?

If you want to hear God then listen with your heart not your head!

The notion of an athropomorphic god that's a father/mother substitute is pretty silly on its face. The notion that an eternal and uncreated superbeing would create a universe 20-40 billion light years across simply to listen to our complaints is a little egocentric on our parts.

Here's my question. What answer do you want? Is it that the answer is unavailable from another source, or not available with such authority? I think mostly people talk to God because they have no one else to listen, or they're afraid to say to other people what they say to God, or they are asking for magic that only a God could work.

I would suggest that except for wanting magic, most other inquiries and requests can be answered by someone other than the Creator. I think between us here on the planet darn near all solutions are within our reach if not within our agreement, and that if we are really wanting a magic genie to grant our wishes, that's not really a God thing except in the most distored sense.

Let's say for the sake of argument that God is a faery tale and joke. What's your next move? If silence is all you get from God, do you just keep waiting or take action? Why wouldn't you just take action anyway? If what you're wanting is something only a magic genie could do, then you need to adjust your expectations because that's not happening, even if there is a God. But if it's something a friend or other person can help with, ask for help. You'll at least get an answer from a person.

The very fact that you feel the term God is a joke is one of the reasons you hear only silence from him. What is the point of him speaking to you when you don't even believe in him? I challenge you to ask God to show you if he is really real. Then sit back and pay attention and God will show himself to you. Then you can see how much like groundwater he really is.

Well, there ARE some people who believe they hear from God.
Unfortunately, far too many of those think that their having a personal line to the Almighty justifies any means to justify the ends they see as "Divinely ordained."
Silence on the part of God - or uncertainty just where our impulses to do the right thing come from - is part of the package. After all, if we KNEW for sure that God existed, the "game" would be over. Free will would become meaningless.

"Be still....and know that I am God" never forget this phrase....for it is only in the silence that God communicates to you. Please don't expect only words from God....God is much more creative than that. God speaks to us mostly through experiences in the silence, feelings and signs. "The written word" is the last place you should seek a communication with God because their is so much noise and confusion in that with this religion interpreting things their way and that religion doing the same thing.

It is only in the silence that you will find the inner voice in your heart....which is the only true communicator from God. I guarantee you once you slip into that "zone" you'll find yourself in a devine state and you will only then realize your own true potential.

The Trinity speaks to you through the heart. You feel it more than hear it, but the message is just as clear once you learn to listen for it. This is true. I have been spoken to many times, sometimes telling what to do, or when I have made mistakes, or when someone is in need.

You are not famaliar with the ways God communicate. Your pastor should be able to help you with this. Sometimes he speaks out loud most of the time he speak through other ways. He always hear you and answers prayer.

Probably you're hearing silence from God because, unlike most people, you're actually trying to hear something (as opposed to imagining it), and God doesn't exist.

I really have to say in USA you really need a strong religion. A religion that works or moves forward, or at least does something somehow with RESULTS that we can SEE and RECORD.

thats why I choose muslim, Its one realigion that has all ya ANSWERS, because I belive people asking people for guidance is really a cheap realigion. I mean being a muslim WONT NECESSARLY GUARANTY resullts like BEING A US CITIZEN, but hay its a religion USA IS A COUNTRY.

ITS CHEAP, PLUS you can get a kick out of people making fun of your religion because its a religion that has it all. looks like YOGA, feels like your moving in wierd ways. Totally makes sense especially when spaces OR real estate is the MOST EXPENSIVE PRODUCT in usa.

You hear only silence because you are listening only with your ears and not your heart.

God speaks to us through the beauty of His creation, through the wonders of nature, through the kind and generous acts of His people, through the circumstances He places in our lives, in the opportunities that come to us every day.

Contact me if you wish to discuss this further.
