I touched on this on a different question - but I feel the need to get a yes or no answer - so say 1 or the other and explain it..

I worked with someone that became born again & told other people in the office that because they weren't born again that they were going to Hell - 1 was Catholic, another was Methodist...

Is that truly what you believe?

I don't like born again Christians. They scare me with their fanaticism. I can't stand their smug righteousness whereas they are the deluded ones.

The bible says unless a man is born again he cannot enter the kingdom of God.. So therefore it is required..There is no such thing as regular Christians either you follow Christ or you don't. If you claim you are a Christian but aren't saved, then your a liar..
Christianity is not based on head knowlegde, its based on knowing you violated God's laws, and that you will be guilty before all-mighty God. Then knowing your guilt you realize I need a saviour, so you give jesus your life, and repent of your sins.. Then you become born again. It isn't a matter of Catholic, Methodist, both can be saved.. Its a matter of whether or not you have the holy spirit, that Jesus sent..

A "born again" Christian and a "regular" Christian are the same. The "born again" aspect simply means the person's heart is "regenerate." Meaning the Holy Spirit resides in their heart. It's just another way of saying that person is saved and is living their life for Christ. All Christians are on equal ground only because of Christ's mercy and grace.

well, by born again it just means he has accepted christ as his saviour and renewed his vow to god and has been cleansed. Many poeple of all beliefs commit sins but at the moment of accepting christ, your slate is essentially wiped clean. He is vowing to let god be his saviour, but how well he will serve him between now and the end will determine his passage with god. The bible says : do not sin, pray everyday, devote time to read the bible every day and do nothing without consulting god. you can be of any religion and not follow the rules, but your taking some serious risk about your entranc to heaven that way. I am a born again christian and I do believe if I had remained catholic I would have gone to hell not because I was simply a catholic but because of the way I ran my life while I was catholic. I am not sure if that made sense, but you need to serve god to the best of your ability and live as free of sin as you can to go to heaven, and if your religion doesnt enforce that and neither do you, you are SOL when they sound those trumpets.

The Bible says you must be born again to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. [John 3:3] But, that transformation is in your heart and you can do that regardless of what church you attend. It's not a matter of where you go on Sundays, it's what's in your heart. And no one here will be doing the judging when the time comes. God will judge everyone, and God looks on the heart.

i'm no longer Christian yet discovered this query to be very exciting. i became right into a Christian for some years of my youthful adulthood and the respond that I considered at that element became into definite. maximum Christians do have confidence that while you at the instant are not born lower back or a individual who has by no ability heard the gospel of Jesus Christ which you do no longer flow to heaven. i do no longer think of all Christians have confidence that yet i understand that many do. Now as for why? i do no longer understand the superb religious answer to that yet i think it became into probable a obligatory area of the separation of Protestant and Catholicism. Catholicism became into extra commonplace and had extra capacity in society and government while the Protestant circulation began. it style of feels functional that the Protestant circulation would choose something to demonize their "older brother", Catholicism. we could no longer ignore that the previous religions (paganism) commemorated their Goddesses lots the comparable way Mary is commemorated in Catholicism. it style of feels that it would be somewhat hassle-free to attack the faith on that premise. Now, i do no longer agree. i think faith and spiritual paths are very own issues and should no longer be per others opinions.

I think the question should be. How can you be a Christian UNLESS you are born again.

Christian means follower of Christ or Christ-like.
If you're Christ like or a follower of Christ then you follow his commandments:

JESUS SAID---

Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Being born again IS the accepting of Christ as your Savior. All those in a Christ based belief system accepting Him are therefore saved. I have issues with the legalisms out there. Misunderstandings of this from kindred Christians aches my heart...judging one another and not being in union. A Catholic as an example expresses that they believe in one holy and apostolic church (centered in the belief of Christ as savior) - THAT MEANS THEY ARE SAVED!!! We have to remember that even the church of Pergamos (though not pleasing in God's favor) still receives the white stone. (The white stone was considered a pardon in those days). (Primarily and even though very different and not as in favor as the church of Philladelpia...because of their belief in Christ as Savior...are pardoned because of that alone).

The right answer to this is, your religon don't matter if you don't accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and the son of God, then your going to hell. God made it just that simple, because he knew how religon would be out of control. You also have to ask for forgivness everyday and live a holy life according to the bible.

No

All Christians are born again, whether they come under the category of 'born again' or not.

John 3:3 (KJV)
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

This 'rebirth' comes through receiving a seal of God's Spirit which comes through believing and confessing that you believe, and changing your lifestyle accordingly (ie. trying to love God and others)
