I have done lots of study into most major world religions, thought it was fascinating. However I didn't choose Christianity as I was baptised when I was born. If I could have changed I would like to have been Buddhist. I'm considering Wicca at the moment.

I have always been a Baptist, I studied with my aunt who is a JW, I have had discussions with my friend who is a Mormon, and I have listen to sermons at a Methodist church. I quit my church because they don't follow the exact rules of the Bible, the JW's contradict my Bible, the Mormons have their own set of rules, and the Methodist don't follow the exact law that is stated in my Bible. Therefore I made a decision to become a Christian, and follow the teachings of Jesus, He told His disciples how we were to live, and gave us rules, and examples. I try to abide by those rules, although I do falter sometimes. Thank goodness He is a loving and just God, because I can repent, and set myself back onto the road of salvation.

My main reason for not following religion is there are so many different kinds, and some people are adamant about their religion. Christ was the best example, so I chose to follow Him. I know Christianity is a religion too, but I don't follow a religion. I follow my heart, and do what I think Jesus would want me to do. Not what other people say I should do. The ones teaching all those different religions are not the ones that will go in my place for judgement, so I have to follow where Jesus leads me.

My aunt the JW and my other aunt the Baptist, don't speak to one another. Not because of the JW one, but because of the Baptist one. Both are adamant in their beliefs, but JW is more able to overcome than Baptist.

The key word here. that people are overlooking, is "before"

The religions Christianity took its holidays, stories and rituals from.

Not the other religions of the world today. By the way, MySpace Hoochie, There were quite a few religions before Christianity.

First of all, Christianity is one of the very first faiths in human history. There aren't many more before it, aside from sun worship and other "strange" things.

Secondly, I grew up in an unbiased Christian school that was very adamant about making sure we knew about other religions. We were taught the basis of other religions, their history, and scientific facts to back up the theology.

I guess I chose Christianity because it was the only religion that seemed to have real facts behind alot of its main principles. I'm a "I-have-to-see-it-for-myself" kind of person. And Christianity delivered. It just made sense to me.

Since then I have sort of just abandoned religion altogether, but looking back I realize that I was my happiest then. Hmm.

Very few chose it. Most were born into it, just like any other religion
