My discs are dislodged between my jaw bones. I had an extremely painful exray at one of the top hospitals in the country where they inserted metal tubes between my jaw bones and exrayed them to make sue that the discs were in fact dislocated. I and I am unable to control the pain without surgery which I am not ready for. I am unable to find anything that will take away the paiin temperorarily - it occurs mainly when a storm is coming or rain or other changes in weather. I do not need it all the time - just when the weather changes. I also have an underbite which makes it even worse. Can someone help me? Hot and cold compresses do nothing. And I have also tried deep jaw messages - they are very temporary. Help.

I'd definitely see a doctor about this. If he or she thinks you need hydrocodone, then they'll write you a prescription.

Hydrocodone is a narcotic and can only be prescribed by a Doctor. If your Doctor feels you need it, they will prescribe it for you. Sad thing is there are so many drug abusers this day and age that Doctors are limited to how much and how often they can prescribe certain drugs. Therefore we the innocent have to suffer. Surgery even though you may be afraid, if it will help, you should do it. I'd personally rather suffer a little extra pain now instead of continuing to suffer all the time otherwise. I have had 17 surgeries in 38 years. Modern medicine and procedures are great. Find a creditable doctor and stop suffering. Good Luck, take care and may God bless and be with you always.

Hydrocodine is also known as Vicotin, an addictive Rx painkiller. Try to find ways to manage the pain without it! It's in the codiene family = narcotic, addictive.

Can you see a specialist about your problem? Surely someone out there can help you.

I think you mean hydrocodone, a cocaine derivitive and very popular and effective pain medicine obtainable by prescription only. Ask the surgeon who would be doing the cutting about the pain. Now don't tell me you haven'[t tried aspirin.

Go have the surgery. Ready or not, sounds like you need it.

See a doctor. It could be something else.
