You only need a green card to work, not to live there. You need to apply for a B1 visa. You can stay for 6 months, then keep applying for 6 months at a time.

You will still need to contact the American Embassy to find out what sort of Visa you will need. You will also need to prove that you can live there without seeking employment. Your cousin will need to prove that they can support you financially. I would not be surprised if there green card will not cover your living there.

You must contact the American Embassy before you try to live there .

You need a green card only to work in the U.S. You cannot live here indefinitely without proving you are a political prisoner in your homeland or gaining citizenship in this country.. Contact immigration.

From Canada, flow over the US to Mexico, land and walk north. Then you won't need anything.
