go someplace quiet where you can be alone and then just talk to god at your hearts content

Well at the risk of looking like being a smarty, I would first want to know why? serious problem in life, feel guilty about something?
you can simply bow your head and talk to him as if you were talking to someone right next to you. Just tell hims the problem and ask his help. it is best not to go on and on about the situation but state the problem in your life and leave it in his hands. Hope this helps you. there are many situations that many of us feel we need to chat with God about so don't be afraid to do so.

Talk to Him as you would a friend or someone in your family, he is always listening. God loves us and he wants us to pray to Him.
