These answers are alright, but not all right

a charter can also be rented by a company.

for example

Apple Vacations charters out Allegiant Air and USA 3000 In milwaukee (regular airlines, with regular schedules in other cities)

A charter flight is leased by a company or a group of individuals, for the use other than routine flights. If you chater a flight from a major airline. You do NOT have to use their employees or follow the airlines particular rules. FAA rules must be floowed but not that of the airline. The can be chartered domestically or internationally.

Like the person said below. Champion Air is a charter, but it is mostly chartered out to the NBA, professional race car drivers, baseball players, soccer players ect.

A chartered flight is one that a group of people "rent" the plane to leave when they want to. A scheduled flight is one that they specify goes at a certain time, mainly to connect with other flights

A chartered flight is like when you book a private flight, but through an airline company. Champion Air is an example.

A scheduled flight is when you buy a ticket for a flight, like from United online based on what flights they offer.

A chartered flight is a flight set up exclusively for an individual, or group.

A scheduled flight is set up by the carrier and tickets are paid by anyone who wishes to go to that particular destination.
