I got "attacked" by a man-o-war (from what I'm told) over a week and a half ago, and just wondering if anybody knows anything about it? Do the marks it left on me go away, does it scar? It seemed like it was going away then it started itching like crazy a week after it happened for about 3 days. Now it's okay but just wondering if it's just healing...

Thanks...

It will scar if you are the type that scars. I brushed pass one before and it left light lines up my calf for a few years. You could only see them if I pointed it out. They are gone now. Buy vitamin E, break open the capsules, and spread the liquid over the area daily. It will help with the healing and minimize the itching.

Sorry-that hurts!

I thought Man-O-War killed people. You're lucky. I know the scars that leave smaller jellyfish fade with time.
What treatment did you get from the sting? One fast remedy is to literally "pee" where the jellyfish attacked you. That's no joke. I leave by the beach in Puerto Rico and that is what fisherman suggest.

Ouch! Sorry. what did it feel like? I heard if you're stung by a jellyfish, put cold, freshwater on it after the accident. I'd imagine that you'd have a scar from a Man-o-war.

Holy crap! I have heard of people bn attacked by cats, dogs, bears, and other animals. You got attacked by a man-o-war! There are plenty of creams to help scars fade, you can get them at any pharmacy. Enjoy your bragging rights and wear your scars with pride while there still there. Who won? You have to post the details and let us know!

I had a friend who was stung by a jellyfish and heard that urine would stop the stinging. So a friend peed on his legs and the pain stopped. He has no scars, but he was a little pissed.

I heard that human urine is supposed to stop the burn. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. I swear on my grandma's grave! As far as scarring, if you pick scabs, it scars...leave the skin to heal, and keep it moist and in the air. You can use hydrocortozone cream.

Contact a physician. It sounds like you are having a reaction.

If your complexion is dark, it might take quite a while before the marks go away. They disappear in time.
