Youngest Person To Have A Kidney Stone Removed
Joshua Price (b. November 10, 1986) of Jacksonville, Texas, USA, was 6 years, 10 months, and 25 days old when surgeons at Hermann Hospital, Texas, removed a kidney stone from his left kidney on October 5, 1993. The kidneys are fist-sized, bean-shaped organs whose primary function is to filter impurities and waste products from blood and eject them from the body in urine. Kidney stones occur when certain substances found in urine, usually calcium or uric acid, crystallise. These stones can be tiny enough to pass from the body through the urinary tract, or may become as large as golf balls, which must be surgically removed or broken down by means of sound waves in a treatment known as ultrasonic lithotripsy. It is estimated that more than 600,000 people in the US develop kidney stones annually, with men four or five times more likely than women to develop the condition. Most sufferers develop their first stones between the ages of 20 and 30.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
