Agnostic, not wanting to convert anyone. Just find the following interesting from Christian mythology.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (New King James Version)

Consider that the "fig leave" ie "man's way".

Now read this:

Genesis 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. (New King James Version)

So God made tunics of skin, so they didn't have to hide, that means an innocent animal was slaughtered. In Judeo-Christian mythology "God's Way" is the shedding of innocent blood, including the legendary Jesus.

So, in the story of Adam and Eve, do you believe as I do, that the God forgave the Adam and the Eve. There might have been a punishment yes, but there was a forgiveness.

What shocks me is the number of fundamentalist Christians who don't believe this.

Correction-the shedding of innocent blood is not God's way. That was the penalty for sin-death. In order to "cover' their sin-an innocent animal had to to die (or God would have killed Adam and Eve on the spot). The animal did no wrong. It does not seem fair or right. But we always underestimate the consequences of sin. When dealing with sin-it will never be fair, there will always be a sacrifice. Jesus was the final blood sacrifice for the sins of the world. However, today, even though we are "under the blood", if some one sins against you-you must still sacrifice your "rights" as a victim in order for forgiveness.

Jim, there's a difference between having your sin "covered" and your sin "forgiven." All folks living in OT times merely had their sins "covered;" the righteous understood that the Messiah would come at some point in history and permanently attone for their sins, thus reconciling them back to God. In this context, and to address your fig leaf/animal skin observation, I believe God merely "covered" Adam and Eve's sin through the shedding of blood; but He didn't forgive it, because they were both cast out of the Garden, never to return.

Whether Adam and Eve were ultimately forgiven depends upon their understanding of this process. Since they taught Cain and Abel about offerings and living righteously before the Lord, I think they did. Rabbinical literature suggests Eve's comment at Genesis 4:1 meant she thought she'd given birth to the Messiah.

And to clarify, it is not "God's way" to shed innocent blood; this would violate the 6th Commandment, "thou shalt not murder." In the OT, it was "God's way" to show the Jews through SYMBOLISM that, in order for a blood sacrifice to properly attone for sins, the animal being sacrificed must take on the sins of the people, thus making it guilty; this is the reason why the priests or the offerer always "laid hands" on the animal before it was killed. This laid the pathway for the Messiah's sacrifice, whereby the sins of believers were attributed (or transferred) to Him, although He was sinless to begin with.

Peace.

To answer your question yes GOD did forgive Adam and Eve. There was a cost for Adam's disobedience; Genesis 3:16-19.

Who ever reported God did no longer forgive them? of direction He did. Adam&eve suffered the effects of their alternatives era! effects under no circumstances implies a loss of forgiveness.... decision & accountability are ALL component of the Plan of Salvation for mankind. Forgiveness is granted to ALL who repent and journey a metamorphosis of coronary heart and turn in F "aith to God and nicely known Christ as their Savior & redeemer. yet effects are component of this mortal existence even at cases whilst they suck! We do attain what we sow - Adam & eve made the eternal option to partake of the fruit so as that mankind might prove to be. i've got self belief that they knew ceaselessly conversing precisely what they have been doing too....."Adam fell that guy may well be, adult males are that they might have excitement"

I believe that God's act of clothing Adam and Eve and sending them out of Eden can be seen as an act of forgiveness, after all, He could have just sent them straight to hell or oblivion and started over, but He gave them a chance instead. Very nice question! ♥

Jesus would not have raised Adam and Eve from the dead if God hadn't forgiven them for their sins.

Adam and Eve believed in the salvation of Jesus Christ and rose from the dead. Adam and Eve likely lived for a time, just as the other people who rose from the dead, and died another physical death. The Holy Traditions may say differently, but Adam and Eve are in paradise with their Creator as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

You SHOULD be a Christian with such good insight.

Yes, God teaches that just because there are consequences to sin, doesn't mean there is not forgiveness. There is nothing in the story that leads me to believe that they were not forgiven. I didn't even need the parallel of the animal skins to see that they were forgiven, but I should have seen that parallel right away. Thank you for pointing it out to me.

Adam and Eve Repent and God Accepts.
When Adam and Eve realized that they have disobeyed God by eating the fruit they called:

"They said:
'Our Lord we have wronged ourselves souls. If You forgive us not and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers' " (Quran 7:23)

And God accepts their plea:

".. Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went Astray. Then his Lord chose him, and turned to him with forgiveness, and gave him guidance." (Quran 20:121-122)

The Outcome.
Adam and Eve were instructed not to eat from a certain tree. Satan deceitfully tricked them into disobeying their Lord and as a result:

"(God) said:

'Get down (from the Garden), one of you an enemy to the other [i.e. Adam, Eve, and Satan]. On earth will be a dwelling-place for you and an enjoyment -- for a short time'. He (God) said:

'Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out [i.e. resurrected].' "
(Quran 7:24-25).

Adam and Eve were ordered to leave the Garden which they where in and descend to earth where they and their children will live and die, and where Satan will also be.

Yeah man, they had kiddies: God must have been cool with them
to let um bounce a couple of ankle biters out...

I am more interested in God walking in the Garden...Never heard the Bible talking about God's physicality before, Jesus yes....God No - this has some wide implications

Of which these don't count: Do you reckon he had nice legs? buns of steel maybe? I would have thought so

Adam and Eve were forgiven. They were the most valiant and chosen in the preexistence.

Adam and Eve are honored and reverenced in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

If it wasn't for Eve's decision, we wouldn't have progressed and known the difference between good and evil, and we wouldn't have been created, and we wouldn't know joy.

I know that Adam and Eve are part of the great Plan of Salvation that has been prepared for all of Gods children.
