Yes. It's related to the X chromosome, so women usually carry it, and men get it.
A man only has one X chromosome, so if the color blindness gene is on it, there's no way around it. Women have two X chromosomes. For a woman to be color blind, both must contain the gene.

it is not a disease at all....it is just how you rods on the back on your eyes work....they have a hard time telling the difference between some colors...
