Get a formal education. No matter how hard you work or how good you are, that stupid piece of paper from a college will open more doors than anything else. Then you'll be able to separate yourself from the crowd by showcasing your talents.
You can do the exact same job as someone else, and do it better, but if they have a degree, they'll get more money and more opportunities in most companies.

It depends what your interpretation of being successful in a career is.....loads of money? own a business? be happy as an employer or employee? As long as you are doing what you think makes you happy, you can consider yourself as a successful person! Some people can go through life having everything they think that will make them happy but they are very unhappy cos they have to work hard at it and they are mentally and physically drained...and there are some people who enjoy the simple things in life and are esthetic! Which do you choose to make you happy?

Always be on time. Always try to learn. Always do what is right for the company first, you next. It will pay off in the end. Take education serious, even after high school and college. Speak up when you need to. When on the job, work is top priority, not anything else.

First of all, I think networking is very important because if you know the right people, they can help you immensely. Also, just know as much as you can about what you do. Knowledge is power and the more you know, the better you will be at what you do. When you are the best in your field, everyone will want your services.

I would say the single most important things you can do to be successful is to heighten your awareness (through both paying attention and actual research) and sense of responsibility of/for the work you do. Make sure that when you say or do something it is trustworthy and worthwhile.

set your goal towards you success, and go for your goal,aim it. and hit it, having the discipline and attitudes to have your succesfull career.
