I see so many of you claiming your religious status before you even answer a question, " I'm a "Christian" & I believe... I never see any other religious group adding what they are... So I'm curious as to why you don't list what you actually are when you also believe that Methodist/Lutherans/Presbyterians are all going to Hell unless they are Born Again.... In other words, why do you hide behind Mainstream Christianity?
Or is it that you are so insecure with your faith that you need to search out others to get them to agree with you on the answer section?

You should label yourself, as Christianity has many different sects and I'm sure Lutherans & Methodist to the Greek Orthodox do not want Born Agains to represent all of Christianity...

Linda - please delete your answer - I don't have much respect for a "copy & paste" artist as it leaves out any intelligent thought of your own -

The ones who were fundamentalist or 'born again' didn't need to tell me about it--it wasn't long before it was apparent to me what kind they were!! Either judging others if they're fundamentalist, or trying to convert you if they're born again!

bentheguru,
I have weighed the necessity of it by the question asked. If I think that a point of reference would help to clairify the answer I'm giving, I will write Protestant Christian within the answer. If I don't, I don't.
I am born again, but wouldn't label myself as a Born Again Christian. As far as I know, even Born Again Christians would automatically label Methodist/Lutherans/Presbyteri... as going to Hell.
Also mind you, that some here pose as Christians so that they can defame Christianity. Just like some come on here and pretend to be blacks with radical and antagonistic statements. You don't always see what your getting, in other words.

Free Methodist, Christian (does that satisfy your need for detail?)
Christianity is a wide umbrella. We think of ourselves as a whole because we are a whole. I doubt that we think any individual denomination is "going to Hell." The grey areas form denominations, they don't condemn any one group for believing something slightly different that isn't really portrayed clearly by Jesus.
Sometimes when people are happy to be a part of something, they throw it out there for all the world to see. I'd hardly call that insecure in faith. Personally, I'm not looking for anyone to agree with me at all. Your life is your lilfe. Do what you want with it, and hopefully extend that courtesy to others. You might want to work on your tendency to stereotype people. It's not healthy or kind.

per chance because theist is suggested in yet otherwise to atheist. The atheist makes the ei sound like "e" rather of "a" yet i'm no longer completely positive that it truly is the rationalization. per chance that is authentic, as creatrix shows, that atheists are for some reason more desirable helpful spellers. If it were it would want to really outcome in atheist being spelt incorrectly more desirable regularly as atheists use the be conscious theist quite regularly at the same time as absolutely everyone makes use of the be conscious atheist.

If I have to mention my faith (Roman Catholic) to answer question. I put it down. Not just Christian. I only did that like two or three times because of abortion questions. I remember one ask ed what should we do about all the teen pregnancy is "Christians" forbid the use of birth control. AS a Roman Catholic we forbid sex before marriage.
I have been to a born again "mass". They give away candy and Xboxes. Then they sing and watch "life changing" movies. If you want to believe in that, go ahead. Just think Who's paying for all of that?

I dont call myself a Christian because to me thats what alot of folks hide behind. The bible says they was first called Christians at Antioch. Notice they didnt call them selves that it was others. A Christian to me is someone that when you get in their presence you feel like Christ is right their with them. I bet if I done a survey on 100 people, asking them if they was a Christian I bet you would get 90% saying they was. Now how many out of that 90% are really born again Christians. My guess not many.

I think first it is wrong for anyone to assume that Christians are against eachother in any fashion. There are certain elements of different religions that we are not in union with. It is unfortunate that we are divided in that and has been a problem for centuries, yet...we all are united in Christ. If one has accepted Christ as their savior then they are kindred and we are all of one mind. In addition...I call myself a Christian...not a Baptist, Catholic, Nazarene, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist etc... I am a believer in Christ and that actually is understood by all Christ serving religions without title. I am a believer in a relationship with Christ without legalism or ritualism. Without walls. In this...I have recieved no rebuke from any religion and do not have to force my opinions on any Christ believing person. It is understood.

There has always been division within the Christian faith as there are in other faiths.
You have mainly fundementalist Christians who believe every word of the Bible as law. Then you have these new-age Christians who circumvent Biblical scripture to suit their modern day desires -- as not to offend people that go against Biblical scripture they add fluff to God's word.
So people use labels to distant themselves from what they believe is right and wrong.

I'm a non-denominational Christian. Christian just means Christ-like. I don't worship any religion. I worship Jesus Christ. I am born-again. Why do u want to label everything?

I agree with Casey M, if you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, and have repented of your sins, than you are born again so Denominations don't matter.
