Because He also tells us not to fear death. This time on earth is just a small journey. He says to not worry about your life. Hunger and pain are of the world and not of Heaven.
I want to add here also that we should consider those who build their multi-million dollar mansions in Palm Beach / Hollywood / New York etc... with gold inlaid everything...money to burn folks may be even more responsible for the hunger problem. Again...it's so easy to blame God, yet we want to excuse those people eh? Never point the finger to ourselves...oh NO! How could WE be responsible for the world's problems right? Whatever!

These are two separate issues. People are dying of hunger because they do not have food or the means to understand how to provide for themselves. God assuring us not to worry about what we will eat, is meant for those who have obviously studied the gospel and live in a somewhat privileged society. God does watch over the souls that hunger and if and when they die they will have much opportunity for justice. What can we learn from the hungry, and are we doing what we can to help others by knowing the will of God to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked and to visit the sick and afflicted?

When Matthew recorded Christ speaking those words, of "do not worry about your life, what you'll eat, wear, etc." he wasn't talking about Americans in the year 2006.

So many people read all of the bible, and think that all of it is directed towards them, and only them. Christ came down from heaven, born through Mary to be the King who ushers in the Kingdom of God (also known as the Kingdom of Heaven).

This is a visable, physical, literal kingdom, starting from Israel, with Jerusalem as the footstool of it all, and having Israel as a holy nation, a nation of preists to go out, and proclaim that their King is here, and the world can now be run by the Son of God.

But that didn't happen.

Israel in their UNBELIEF crucified the Lord, thus, putting the Kingdom plan on hold, Christ ascending into heaven as a willing exile from earth, but not after his crucifixion meaning that we're now all saved through grace by faith in his blood. He paid all of our sin debt.

Americans (and every single breathing soul) now live under grace, not the words of the law, written to Israel, which was for them not to worry about what they'd eat or wear, because when Christ rules this earth, the air WILL be perfect, the ground will be perfect bringing up perfect crops in it's proper amounts, water will be sparkling clean, animals will run in harmony, etc. (It's in Isaiah 11)

These days? We live under grace, that our sin debt to God has been fully taken care of by Christ. People are dying of hunger because the God of this world has blinded the minds of so many, that so many don't even lift a finger to help. The money goes towards stupid things that won't mean anything in 6 months anyway.

First, read all of the parables in teh Gospel of Matthew, chapter 25.

People are dying of hunger because not everyone is responding to God's command to take care of the less fortunate. God has done His part by giving us the means and ability to feed the entire world. We have not done our part to make sure that everyone is fed.

We are to blame for the hungry of the world.

Woah. I must congratulate Linda on graduating cutting and pasting 101A???? For crying out loud folks, people are dying of hunger and all because of greedy, phucced up human beings. Sometimes, it is sad watching those of you who keep clinging to this God stuff like it is Linus' thumb and blanket. Wake up. If you need something to believe in that bad, believe you me, the God thing was designed to keep pillagers of innocent villagers way back when. The Bible was written by, uhm, let me see.....MAN! Designed for weak people who don't trust their own survival instincts enough to know that God is on vacation and isn't going to help with a thing. Get mad, but think about it???When is the last time you saw his ***?

Grace unto you and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

It's NOT what goes in the mouth that deflies man,
but rather what comes out the mouth defileth man.
(Matthew 15:11; Mark 7:20; James 3:6; Rev 21:27)

Blessing(Grace) + cursing(law) out of the same mouth "ought not" so to be (James 3:10). POINT: Grace + law coming out the same mouth ends badly for all, as badly as Life + death(added) = a dead end (Heb 7:23), followed by hell (Rev 6:8).

Eg: when "they say" Peace & Safety, safety in "law worketh wrath"... then "destruction" comes on "them". And it's notably "no escape" sort of destruction, and sudden (1Thess 5:3). In contrast, God hath NOT appointed us unto (law worketh) wrath: 1Thess 5:9. POINT: flush the law, and the wrath goes bye bye.

All the lying, dying, crying began with lying(lawing).

The law (and lie) was given by Moses, (Jn 1:17)
but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ, is come.

He taketh away the first (law),
that he might establish the second (grace).

For both is an oxyMORON with a BAD ending.
Pst - you can only take away what's been added.
Law worketh wrath "added" to grace is sufficient?
It is obviously a latter end "worse", not "better".
$ick folk are told: I hope you get "better" soon.

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I don't understand why everyone blames God for everything that is wrong in this world. It isn't His fault. The course has been written in stone, these things must happen before the end of time. I wonder how many of you that blame God for everything wrong, praises Him when things go right.

That is a good reason to no longer believe the crap that's in the bible. The bible is just a book of propaganda, designed to allow clerics to gain control over the minds of the masses, for the purpose of extorting their wealth.

The only TRUE god is Mother Nature.

till we see some data of God, i imagine we are fairly a lot on our own right here. good day, yet i'm no longer saying there is no longer something accessible both. i think of their authorities might want to take action and by no skill basically await "God".
