Don't keep budgies in with other birds such as canaries or finches. The budgies can do a lot of damage with their parrotlike beak to a little bird. I've heard of budgies ripping toes off, etc. I would not recommend to keep them together. I would even go so far as to keep the cages apart if you had them in two cages.

unsure on that. each and all of the budgies we had had their flight time in our residing house and the canaries have been never tame adequate to be enable loose to socialize. many of the smaller parrot varieties I fairly have considered share a cage with budgies with just some incidences of poultry pecking going on(those have been frequently the older or greater fragile that have been bumped off after such incidences).

agree with yeah yeah, finches are better cage mates than budgies. Budgies are very territorial and more aggressive never mind how cute they look to us. Those beaks of theirs could do real harm to a canary.

I have seem them in the same cage in stores...but introduce them carefully. Keets can be territorial...when I added a new keet, I did it at the same time I was moving them into a new cage. i kept a few of the original keets toys, but got new stuff, & new clean cage & put the new keet in first. Then, indroduced the older keet after a little while. It kept her from immediately going after the young keet.
It worked well, they seem to get along now!

I would think they could if the cage was huge enough. But the budgies will destroy the canary nests and kill their babies.

Introduce them slowly. Budgies can be very friendly but you want to observe them closely to make sure nobody is being bullied. I have cockatiels, parakeets, and a lovebird that all live together happily, but it took time for them all to be friends.
