The word paradise is derived from the Avestan word pairidaeza (a walled enclosure), which is a compound of pairi- (around), a cognate of the Greek peri-, and -diz (to create, make), a cognate of the English dough. An associated word is the Sanskrit word paradesha which literally means supreme country.

Sources as early as Xenophon in his Anabasis report the famed Persian "paradise" garden. The form of the word that is now understood as "heaven or any environment that is ultimately pleasurable" is derived from the Greek paradeisos used in the Septuagint Bible translation to mean the Garden of Eden. In the New Testament, paradise meant a paradise restored on Earth (Matthew chapter 5, verse 5 - the meek shall inherit the earth), though no reference is made to what condition (paradisaical or otherwise) the Earth would or should be in. However, certain sects actually attempted to recreate the garden of Eden, e.g. the nudist Adamites.

In Achaemenid Persia, possibly earlier (in Mesopotamia?), the term was not just applied to 'landscaped' gardens but especially to royal hunting grounds, the earliest form of wildlife reserve, destined for hunting as a sport; in various cultures in contact with nature, paradise is portrayed as eternal hunting ground, not just in relatively primitive cultures (e.g. native American) but also in more advanced, essentially agricultural civilisations, e.g. the Egyptian Reed fields and the Greek Elysian fields.

Place types commonly known by analogy as paradise include:

The ideal place on earth or utopia, which was once embodied by the Garden of Eden.
Heaven, which in some religions awaits the best, repentant or chosen people.
An enclosed garden, sometimes called a paradise garden.

Well, try to imagine the most beautiful place you can imagine, and multiply it by millions, the answer is that what Heaven and Paradise look like. Also it's about being with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible is the only Truth. Once you have a personal relationship with God, nobody or nothing can challenge your faith. Believe me, I know my God is real and I can help you if you need to know more, or put you in touch with the appropriate people, You just have to ask.

I can only advise you to sincerely ask Jesus Christ into your life and everything you want to know about God will eventually be revealed to you as you grow in the Christian Faith. You see you can go to the graves of all your false prophets and Buddha, Miohammed etc. and dig up their remains, but go to Christ's tomb and it's empty, why? because He Rose from the dead.

Openmindly read the Gospels and preferably the Gospel of John, some of Pauls letters especially the letter to the Ephesians. Once you have experienced this tremendous understanding of God's Will for you, Satan will appear as an angel of light to confuse you, thinking that he will destroy your relationship with God, don't be taken in by this.

If you want chapters and verses then the first thing to do is read Genisis very carefully and read Christian Literature, i.e. Life-How did it get here. But to be honest , all your answers are in the Bible.
You want a quote from the Bible, John 3 v16, Isaiah 43 V 1-3. The Sermon on the Mount, Mathew chapters 5 - 8. The Book of Revelations.

Turning your life over to Christ will take courage, as an ex-soldier, I can truly identify with this. let's put it this way, if there was no God, I wouldn't be here today answering your Question, I wouldn't be alive, and that's the truth. Please, learn to identify the difference between satans manipulation, and the Truth in God. I could give you many scriptual references to your question, but the real step is finding Christ and asking him into your life. There will be no doubt about it, if you're sincere, the Holy Spirit will reveal everything to you. He loves you and wants to save you from hell and an eternity without God.

If it's guidance you need then contact you're nearest true Christian Church, myself, or Christians who will explain anything you need to know. Remember we (True Born-Again-Christians) love everyone. And at the end of your journey here on earth you will be given Eternal Life in Heaven or Paradise if you prefer.

Salam (Peace)!
Paradise is something that nobody can EVER imagine. You can go ahead and imagine the most beautiful place but you will not come near an inch of a description of paradise. Paradise is hidden and unseen. It is a reward for righthteous believers. Although we do not know how it looks but we still have plenty of description such as,:
-Houses there will be made of gold.
-Everyone will have servants.
-The food there will be the best.
-Everyone will be happy.
-There will be river as white as milk and as sweet as honey.
-Everyone will have palaces made of gold.
Basically it's anything and everything that you could ever imagine. But it's preserved only for those who strive hard in this world to please their Lord.
I hope i answered you well.
Take care!

It looks like my apartment, I have a sign at the door that says 'Paradise' ;) No really, I believe it's full of light, love and laughter. The Bible says the streets are paved with gold and the gates are encrusted with jewels, because riches of that nature don't mean anything in heaven. We'll only know for sure when we get there, won't we? ;)

Paradise is relative; it depends on whomever is envisioning said paradise. It varies between the person, the religion, and what equates serenity and happiness. Paradise could, in essence, be anything.

Like the garden of Eden. God has promised that soon the whole earth will be a paradise with all people living in total peace and security.
PSALMS 145:13-16: " Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing." (NIV)
PSALMS 72:16: "16There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth." (KJV)
PSALMS 67:6: "Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us."
ISAIAH 65:21-25: " 21And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."
