How did you like it? I was recently to a sikr in Mexico City's tariqa and it was odd... this thing of moving in circle while you repeat one of the 99 names of God swinging the head was... energyzing. However, I was impressed by the fact that the sheikh was a woman. I thought that was not allowed in Islam. (I know it is not Islam but Sufism stem from it), also by the music and the fact that at the end everyone (men and women) embrassed and kissed each other.

Share your experience with me, please.

I have been privy to Sufi and Salafi ceremonies of Islam, as well as Yazidi. All 3 are sub-sects of sunni islam just as Baptist and Methodist are sub-sects of protestant christianity.

All religions contain their sects of mysticism. Sufiism is but one within Islam. It contains a lot of beauty, but do not be fooled. There are Suffi extremists out there, just as there are those who pervert any religion. One such group exists in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Syria.

Small correction. Sufism is indeed Islamic.
