A bracelet is only a placebo. She needs to take dramamine tablets, which the ship's doctor should be able to provide.
If they don't have them (which would be a sign of a very poorly-run ship), tell your daughter to spend as much time on deck as possible. Seasickness is caused by a conflict between the senses: the eustacian tubes in the ear signal that the boat is rocking and pitching, but the eyes think everything in the cabin is motionless.

Of all the times I have been fishing far out at sea, I have only been seasick once. Boy, what a day that way. The old boatman said, and I firmly believe this, that if you were to be handed a gun at the time of such a sickness, you would without doubt shoot yourself.
Cures: The bracelet, if it works, good. Food: no chicken or sausages, and no oil. Ear drops in case there is an inner ear problem. No reading. Get her up on deck and tell her to look at the furthest thing on the horizon and concentrate on that. It is only the near things that show the motion, the distant ones do not. She must eat, as dry retching will cause more severe problems. Tell her to try a glass of dark rum if she can with a small mixer - it will help to settle her stomach. Apart from that, the only true cure - is to fly or go by train.................

I went on a cruise and the same thing happened. It usually helps if you lay down. Also, I was lucky enough to find fine one of those patches you wear behind your ears at one of the ports we stopped at. It worked, just made my eye a little red and sore but was worth it. I talked with some other passengers and everyone seemed to agree the best thing was the patch or gravol. Tell her and her boyfriend to talk with some other people, maybe someone has an extra patch she can borrow. Also, after I wore the patch a couple of days I was fine and didn't need to wear it for the rest of the trip. Good luck.

I have never heard of those bracelets really working. I think it is all a mental thing, meaning if she believes it will work, maybe it will. Being sea sick is the worst feeling! Hopefully she will get her sea legs soon and enjoy her cruise!

The bracelets don't work in the slightest. They are a fad item intended to trick people. Tell her to take some dramamine, keep walking around to get used to it, and carry around some crackers.
