I saw some mexican woman in the grocery store getting free food, with food vouchers and food stamps...these people need to go HOME! It's my tax dollars that are paying for these lazy, always pregnant, welfare abusers.

Just cause she was mexican doesn't make her illegal. And not all immigrants take advantage of the system it is only a few of the many that do because not all either qualify or are able to take advantage of the opportunity. It's your tax dollars that are also paying for the lazy americans that choose to stay on welfare or unemployement when they can get a job but they choose not to because they don't like to work. Most of the people on welfare are American anyways buddy.

yeah, and i saw some lazy white people buying potato chips and soda with their food stamps, and since i was the cashier ringing them up, i had to explain that they couldn't use those food stamps to buy beer, which made them angry. is that what you want your tax dollars paying for? why aren't you complaining about them? at least the mexican woman was buying food.
the woman, if she really existed, wasn't necessarily illegal. she wasn't even necessarily mexican (was she guatemalan? peruvian?). you're making some big assumptions and coming off as ignorant and racist in the process.
many of my tax dollars go to pay for american soldiers to get senselessly killed in iraq. i think i'd prefer that money get spent on some impoverished people who need a little help, whether they happened to be born in this country or not.
and weezy, if they're illegal they can't vote, so how exactly are politicians gaining votes by allowing illegal immigrants to get benefits? that argument just doesn't hold up.

If she had foodstamps then most likely she wasn't an ILLEGAL! Only cuz the lady looked Mexican you are assuming all this bunch of things - She could of been from anywhere -Or do you actually go up to people and ask if they are Mexican or illegal?
She could of been married to a white guy that wasn't supporting her! How about all these white people that are on welfare and are able to work but don't want to? Hispanics and Blacks aren't the only ones that use the welfare system.

First of all, why do you assume she is illegal just because she is Mexican. Not all Mexicans or any hispanics or europeans by the way are illegal in this country. I am a foreigner and I have a green card and so I am very legal. And yes, people with green cards do get the same priviledges you home grown Americans do, and we also pay taxes and pay into social security and if we happen to lose our jobs we also get help from the government.

How do you know she was illegal? and thats pretty heartless! She could be fighting a battle you know nothing about. She probably doesnt LOVE using food stamps, but probably has childern that she has to feed. You shouldn't judge or look down on people. Besides its not just mexicans. There are pently of americans on crack who do it. You don't know that ladys story, or what she might be going thru!

I'll tell you why this is happening. APATHY.
Today, no one votes anymore, no one cares, no one takes any interest in democracy or good government anymore.
You want this to stop? Mobilize the public, write government officials, sensibilize your community. Get democracy working again instead of sitting back and well, no offence, belly-ache.
