Tell them you just found out that you have head lice. That should have them running out the door.

Yes it would be rude to ask them to leave. But, the again I would have asked your friend if there was a problem, If there is a next time just tell your friend that you don't think it's a good idea because it's the week day and you need to go to work or get your kids ready for school tomorrow. It can work one way or the other she may not come again or she may understand. Hopefully if she is a good friend she will understand and realize what she did that day. Good- Luck !

12 hours is definitely a bit too long for a friend to stay. Simply tell her although you enjoy her friendship and children, there are things you must get done during the day. Or ask her to phone you first before coming by - this way you can let her know your availability and how much time you have to spend with her.

That's overwhelming.
When someone is over with kids, make them obey your house rules.
Don't be afraid to say no, or make them get out of the icebox. If the parent doesn't like this then they will leave, or be aware of the fact that they do have to behave while there.
Visit with your friend, but when you're ready to get on with your day, do your business. You don't have to sit and entertain someone who wont leave. Hopefully, they will take the hint at that point.

I don't worry about being mean. If this happened to me I would have no problem telling the kids to stay out of the fridge and making them clean up their messes. If their mother got mad at me then I would tell her that it's my house and if she's not going to make them behave then I will and if that bothers her then she can leave.

Yesterday? Did they staty overnight or is this a general question? Say "It's been a good time seeing you all I have to get up early tomorrow for an appointment" and politely say, goodbye.
Alternately, pretend that you have to leave for a family emergency, then go down to the shops and return after they depart - all the best :)

Simple ....tell them that u have to go out some where and that u cant be late. Then they get the picture. And if the kids were making a mess tell them not to...its yr house n they should behave accordingly.

Been their done that. What I do is tell them that it's my bed time. I always say, Sorry to tell you guys this but I'm going to bed. So its time to go. If you let it keep going they will be doing laundry and staying the night. They will also be their everyday. I suggest for the kids just be rude, tell them no & make them clean their own mess.I suggest stop it now before it gets worse. Believe me it will get worse.

Just say, Im sorry but your gonna have to leave, I've got to go take care of some business. Then go somewhere even if its to a Dollar store or walking outside. Maybe you had to go walking to keep from ruining a friendship.
