I'm not a scientologist, but I was wondering, how this idea or faith sells. I see alot of references to many self-help concepts, but the alien thing? They do have lots of money and money does alot of things. I wonder what evidence they could possibly have, and could they have strong ties to intelligence agaencies and their plethora of knowledge. I was thinking about some of the actors involved. John travolta has done a few movies with deep metaphysical concepts. And Robin Williams. I don't think he is a scientologist, but look at some of his movies. Oh well. Just a thought. Any comments?

They have no more access to knowledge than anyone else.

I'm no scientologist, but I did take a look at the book to see what the hoopla was all about. Some of the psychology behind the ideas is actually pretty sound and also revolutionary. As far as the fact that it's wrapped around a hoky religion that sees us all as alien descendants is really too bad. I think some of the psychological techniques could really be of great benefit to society, but because of the package it was presented in, the mainstream medical society will probably never accept it.
I'm not sure whether Hubbard ever really intended those ideas to become part of a religion or not.

Ok as people have said scientology is a destructive cult.

Hubbard was a conman and discovered absolutely nothing except how to extract lots of money from people, and get them to do his bidding even after his death.
http://www.clambake.org/archive/books/bfm/bfmconte.htm

He plagiarised like hell to get somethings that sounded plausible but only had a superficial knowledge of what he stole from. Thus what you get is diluted and often wrong teachings from other disciplines and sources. The rest is work of science-fiction.

Here are the 'secrets' your missing out on:

For more research into scientology I suggest you visit these sites amongst other things:

http://www.lermanet.com
http://www.whyaretheydead.net

They have no research, there is no science in scientology. Hubbard wasn't a scientist, and knew nothing of the scientific method, nor did he lead a life to discover anything but how to con people.

They did have an intelligence agency and still do, it was once called the Guardians Office who instigated the biggest infilitration of governement agencies ever, resulting in the imprisonment of 11 scientologists, including Hubbard's wife. Hubbard was an unindicated co-conspirator. Hubbard was charged with Fraud in his absence in a French Court, and died a fugitive.
http://www.clambake.org/archive/go/go.htm

They are now are called OSA. They don't have ties to any goverment intelligence agencies and infact the FBI kept a critical file, and a close watch on Hubbard and scientology for a very long time, and probably still do.

So my thoughts are, its a very destructive cult, but I feel I also have the evidence, as linked to, to back it up.

And about the aliens (Xenu + others), scientology and it's members will deny this is part of their higher doctrines, but fortunately it came out in a court trial, where scientology lawyers confirmed the material was accurate.

Look at the roots of Scientology. L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer who decided one day to make up a religion. It's all well documented. He is not privy to any special information. He has a good imagination and he has convinced others to follow his path.

I don't know if Scientology works or not, but it sure costs a lot of money to become "cleared". I think that right there should raise some red flags.

WARNING: Scientology KILLS PEOPLE!
All religions were invented by man because man doesn't want to die then he goes out to kill others that don't believe the way he does.

If you are interested in learning about the lies and deception that surround Scientology's beliefs, this pamphlet is for you. If you are one of the few people who are considering Scientology, this will give you a brief view of their cosmology and help you decide if this is a group you wish to be associated with. And, if you are already a Scientologist planning on moving up the "bridge to total freedom", this document will give you a heads-up on what to expect.

Sure they do! But in my opinion it means just as much as all religious dogma. It's a "religion" written by a science fiction author, nothing more. There isn't even a written storybook like the Bible or archeological relics to base anything on!

That, and it seems that only rich, wack-job actors join the Cult of Xenu anyway. We're not rich enough to know what really goes on.

Part of L. Ron Hubbard's writing on "how to start a religion" specifically speaks of gathering popular celebrities so that they will get the message out to the people. Scientology does this impressively. Celebs get fabulous treatment from the "church". Your average scientologist does not. Instead, they have to pay out the nose to increase their "level" of knowledge so that they can get closer to "discovering their inner Xenu".

If Scientology really has the answers, why are they the only "religion" on the planet that uses copyright law to PREVENT you from finding out what those answers are?

Ron L Hubbard, the founder of Scientology was a science fiction writer before he became a "prophet" (profit is more like it). Since religious groups pay no taxes, the guy invented a religion based on his novel "Battleship Earth". Like most religions, it is nothing but a scam to part people from their hard earned money.

Read the Bible because it says, "There is nothing new under the sun."
Every kind of idea about God has already been tried and worshipped since the beginning therefore, no one has NEW knowledge it is just the same old stuff just recycled and repackaged with more impressive bows.
The original knowledge is still the truth-God is holy, man is unhloy, Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to allow God and man to be reconciled once again.
Also, scientology denies the deity of Jesus Christ.

Scientologists believe in a concept brought forth by L. Ron Hubbard. To me it is almost like a cult.
