For the past eight weeks I have increased my physical activities, decreased my "screen" time, terminated excess sweets, junk food, and processed foods from my diet, decreased the amount of meat that I ingest, and increased the amount of grains. According to my scale I have lost an estimated ten pounds, but I have gone up two pants sizes. Is that normal? If not, what might I be able to do to fix the problem?

Salsa is wrong you need whole grains to be balanced. You may be simply retaining water, I noticed you did not mention it. I know this sounds backwards, but you must drink lots of water to flush your system.
Take your body weight divide it in half, whatever that # is you need that many ounces per day of water just to remain hydrated. (Example a 200 pound person would need 100 ounces of water every day.) I know it sounds like a lot, but if you keep a bottle of water with you at all times and drink regularly, you will be surprised how much you can drink in a day.

This is on a normal day. On heavy work out days, or extremely hot days you need more.

And keep in mind that carbonation dehydrates. So if you do have a soda, or other carbonated drink, you need the same amount of water to replace what the carbonation took away. If it fizzes it it carbonated.
