I would love to hear feedback on what you read and also would like to know if you could hear the word of the Lord as you read?

I absolutely believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and so doesn't every member of the Church.

It's awesome. Such good news to know that God continues to speak to man in these modern times.

I'm not sure why there is such resistance to it from some of the "traditional" christians who also answered here. If they took a good hard look at their churches they'd realize that they are worshipping a dead god who stopped speaking to man 2000 years ago. That's really sad to me.

Oh well, I'm glad to be LDS. It's an awesome church and brings me alot of happiness.

Robert L, I can't see where on earth you're coming from, Mate!

Are you reading the name of the church correctly, or not?? ...
... "The Church of Jesus Christ" ...

Is it not??

We also have what are called 13 [basic] "Articles of Faith".
The very first article states:

"We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost".

Wherez you bin, Man?!!
Whoz you bin alistenin' to that you shouldna' bin??!!

Angel, Just as well, I've read a large portion of Doctrine and Covenants, but, Boy, it's that Book of Mormon that just has that powerful Spirit that grabs you!
Now, that one I've read right through ... a number of times!

God Bless You...

Hey Angelgirl, The first section is a real seat grabber, I have read it over and over and it wakens us up to the reality of what's going on. To Anyone who barks at it they are afraid of it because it is the truth. God bless Angel and keep up the good work.

Angel,
I'm really sorry, angel. Itell you out of love and compassion; he took bits and pieces of scripture and used it reconstruct phrases, so that he could control a church. I didn't hear that from anybody, that's just my opinion. I think that if you trust in Jesus Christ you are saved. Your baptism that really counts is of the Spirit, but nothing is done outside of faith that is eternal.

I REALLY hope you have Jesus centered in your life. I knew a Mormon that knew Jesus, and kept Him center in his life. I knew that he was saved. So I know that Mormons can do it. But I cannot trust the words of Joseph Smith. I don't think he did it because an angel came to him. I think he did it so that his "church" would be exclusive to him. A rather selfish thing.

It's Jesus anyway, right? So I'm not trying to hurt you, I really want to call you sister in Christ. I can somehow love you even though I've never met you. I don't see anyhting there except borrowed Biblical phrases attached to dramatized sentences.

Please don't be angry with me. Remember Jesus first and always.

I read enough of it to get the gist of it. I agree with a lot of what is said, and actually a lot of the tennants of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are in line with many religions of the world. However, you do not accept Jesus as the Son of God, so at that point we part company.

I'm sorry, I know some Mormons and they are good and moral people who believe that they worship Jesus and that they are Christians but it's just not true. The founder of Mormonism was deceived by the Devil who disguised himself as a delivering angel and who mixed truth with lies in order to create a new false religion.

"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

At that time many people could see that the Catholic church had departed from the teachings in the Bible and that there were many hypocrites in Protestant churches as well. So the evil one introduced this new teaching that God had somehow disappeared from His church here on earth and was calling new saints to come and worship Him. That was and is a lie straight from Hell! As early as the end of the first century you can read about different churches in existence in the book of Revelation, chapters 2 and 3. That pattern has continued on to this day. But God always preserves for Himself a remnant. He didn't abandon those true believers who were around when Joseph Smith got his "revelation".

You can tell that the LDS church is a cult by two characteristics that identify every cult that seeks to draw people away from the church of God which is made up of all born again believers and into a substitutionary religion that is really from the spirit of the anti-Christ.

First off you have a "new revelation" of knowledge that seems on the surface to come from the Bible but on close examination is a mixture of Biblical truths with little variations mixed in. For instance the Bible doesn't say that Satan and Jesus were "spirit brothers", it says that Jesus is the Word who was with God and who is God and that Satan is a created angel who became corrupted through pride and who to this day seeks to make himself like God in this world (John 1;1,2,14 Isaiah 14 Ezekial 28)

That's how the Devil forms cults. He diminishes the person of Jesus Christ in subtle ways and adds to or subtracts from God's Word or changes the meanings in subtle ways to pervert God's truth.

"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1

In this passage Peter warns about people who "secretly" bring in destructive heresies. How does someone do that? They don't start off by denying accepted truths. Instead they put a new spin on them and claim that people just didn't understand the Bible correctly before them.

In the Garden of Eden Satan told Eve that God didn't really mean that she would die if she ate from the tree but that she would instead become like God if she only followed him and didn't do what God had said to do. There is a parallel there between Satans activities in the Garden and the teaching that goes on in the LDS church that claims that we are all spirit children of God who will one day be like God and have our own planets to rule over.
