how can i find my biological father when i only have a limited amount of info i have no surname for him?

i was born in 1975 so my mum new him in 1974 his name was edward but he was known as ted or teddy, we think his surname was either dordoyle or dordoy or something like that and he came from newcastle he was in worthing west sussex in 1974 when he met my mum but she was married. my maiden name was rebera. im not sure if he knows i exsist but i am led to believe he came looking for me when i was about 8 that was in about 1983. if anybody can help i would be very greatfull.

Start with your Birth Certificate. Do you have one, and is he on it?

If you don't have one, look for your Vital Records at your local government. Get a copy. See the Website for England Vital Records below.

Go back to the Hospital where you were born, and request any records they kept.

This is not an easy question - a private investigator might be the way to go that knows your location and records keeping habbits. The second web site is a PAY site and they claim to be able to find anyone.
The third site is a find anyone site anywhere in the world. It costs $40.00 US dollars.

Sorry sweetie I am in the same possy I am now 41yrs old and am still no closer I wish you all the luck in the world and besides checking phone books electrol rolls I have no other ideas The only other thing is if you can get more info from the person who told u he was looking for u it may turn up a lead

Start by hiring a private investigator. Also you could go to a geneologist and have your genes mapped. They can tell by what your genetic traits and recessive genes are a pretty good picture of possible traits your dad has (ie, brown hair, blonde hair) Try that and good luck.
