In Islam, alcohol is forbidden and shouldn't be consumed. There are Muslims out there that do drink knowing well that they shouldn't because it's intoxicating and a person can do and say things that they shouldn't in a drunken state. But that in itself has no bearing on a man having four wives. That is a separate subject however, there are special conditions for having 4 wives. Islam promotes monogamous relationships. It also does not preach to anyone what to do and what to wear. People are just ignorant and not well informed about other religions out there. What's so good about puking and getting hangover's eh?

i was just reading the answers below and realised how stupid some people are!

First, yes you do have to give up alcohol, and this rule was set for good reasons which benifits you as an individual, ur health, life style and much more....think about the stuff we do when we drink, sometimes its better off without it. plus thers so much to life, alcohol isnt essential..in fact it damages ur health.


Now, lets set something straight. no, your not allowed 4 wives just because you wish to do so. if you research in depth you will come to realise that in islam the god or 'allah' has set 'rules' for having 4 wives, one reason is if your wife cant get pregnant.

The main condition was that 'you treat each wife Exactly the same, very equal'....and if you think about it, this would be a hard thing to do, if one needs a new car the rule means u have to buy them all new cars, and this is impossible unless ur very rich! so, in theory you cant have four wives...because u cant!

Those who do it and use islam as a justification are not right!!! they just use the religion to support their actions, but deep inside they know its not 100% allowed.

What's so great about alcohol? It destroys livers, kidneys, brains and human lives - and you feel awful next morning as well. There is more to life than getting stoned and in Islam you would find so much more than you find in the bottom of a bottle. One of the answers above is better than mine in describing the joys of Islam, but I can tell you this: once you convert, you will know where you are going, how to get there and you will find peace and happiness that you never imagined for the rest of your life.

i am muslim but i often have alcohol.. and all my friends and family ...well i am not so religious... some people here dont know anything about islam so wy dont they just shut up

Yes and apparently you couldn't really change your mind and unconvert because the penalty for doing so is death. Don't know how that squares with being a religion of peace. You certainly don't seem to get much freedom of choice.

yep and if that worries you you better think again about converting cos you obviously not that keen if givin up the booze is a problem
