My favourite lake would have to be Upper Chateaugay Lake in New York. I had a boyfriend that had a cabin on this lake and we would go up there every other weekend for 4 years. The lake connect to Lower Chateaugay Lake by the "Narrows" and you can take you boat to go out to restaurants or go grocery shopping. You dock outside the restaurant. I loved being able to do that. It makes you feel like you are in another place or time. Cottage life is fantastic, a place away from the grind of the city. Mostly I enjoy kayaking or canoeing, but we did have a speed boat for water skiing and our neighbors had jetskis. You can go hiking and fishing in the area as well.

When I was little, my family and I used to go to a lake in Virginia called Philpot Lake. It isn't a rather large lake. I guess it's probably about medium sized. But there is lots to be done...you can boat, water ski, fish, swim, camping, and much more. The water quality, from what I remember, is fair. I wouldn't drink it but I sure didn't mind swimming in it.
I can't really remeber where it was or how to get to it now. Just a bunch of good memories.

Lake Superior. I love the lighthouses, swimming in the summer, even though the water is still chilly. Boating and fishing are also a wonderful pass-time, and I could watch the freighters out in the channels for hours. When a storm blows, the skies are a beautiful backdrop to take fantastic pictures, especially of lightening and nature shots.
