Why do toasters always have a setting so high that could burn the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

Toasters don't toast faster when you turn them up, they just toast for longer. Thus burning the bread. Bagels burn before bread. Bagels are nice. Couldn't eat a burnt bagel though....or burnt toast. I scrape the burnt bits off bread, you canny do that with a bagel. I agree why DO toasters have that high setting? Burnt toast likers could just push it down again instead of the rest of us having to make a mess all over the chopping board!

This is to compensate for a frozen waffle or bagel, which needs extra toasting time. Otherwise, one would have to set the product through another cycle in order to get the correct results.Smart toaster have a microprosser to control this.

I think some people do like to eat "burnt toast". Also I've noticed that when I toast eggo's and stuff like that, I have to turn the setting pretty high in order for them to come out right.

I think it is because the longer you have and use the toaster the higher you have to keep setting it to it finally wont toast at all

Havent you asked this before? On my toaster I have settings for different toastees. Frozen bread for example comes up at treat at higher settings. Whereas my cheese and onion bagels (mmmmm cheese and onion bagels....) toasted very nicely on the medium setting thank you. Learn about your toaster. Become one with your toaster. Live as your toaster. Only then will you understand its deep and dark mysteries young Jedi.

It is so the toast toasts quicker but you are supposed to press the button to take it out early you should not wait for it to pop up automatically
