They wont be gone completey until you cut that part of the hair off once it grows out. However they will fade a bit and the best part of highlights is that you dont have to re-do the roots as often as if you dyed your hair one color. They blend nicely with the rest of your hair if you choose a color close to your own. I would get a touch up or re highlight after five or six months at the most if you want to maintain th look. If you dont like them and want them to grow out ,then consider dying your hair your natural color in a month couple of months.

the highlights with stay in the hair you had highlighted until that hair is cut off. It wont go away because it's basicaly like bleaching little strands so they can't faid out. Unless you used some kind of wash out dye to do them then they will go away after the time it said on the box.

from my experience they have to grow out as your hair grows I have always used highlights in my hair and they grow out in time if you wish not to have highlights then you can dye your whole head a solid color .have fun .
