Yes, for when we are England (as apart from being part of the United Kingdom).
Hmmmm...... (strictly tongue in cheek)
'Land of Hope & Glory' - Well I suppose there is always hope, but the glory days seem to pass us by.
'Jerusalem' - Too many religous overtones for our multicultural society, we need something the whole country can unite behind.
'We Are The Champions' - See the comment about 'The Glory Days'.
.... How about "Sunny Afternoon", the old Kinks classic. 'Lazing on a Sunny Afternoon' is something the whole country can aspire to irrespective of creed or colour. With the lyric running "Taxman's taken everything I got, All I've got is this sunny afternoon.", well after any competition it seems all we ever have is the sunny afternoon.

What is this mysterious feeling that people get when they hear this awful claptrap.? I guess it's patriotism. People being rightfully proud of our glorious past (and present) of murder, slavery and exploitation. Anything half decent that this country has (or had), like the National Health service was ultimately paid for through the sweat, toil and sacrifice of poor workers at home and abroad.
Why not remember that fact in a national song? National solidarity ought to be shaped by commomn experiences, what common experiences do most of us share with Elizabeth Windsor. Personally I prefer Barbara Windsor.
Great Britain's identity has changed repeatedly from generation to generation. When are ordinary people going to stop identifying with a sentimental fiction - just because the fantasy makes them feel good about themselves - and understand that the monarchy simply serves the interests of the establishment. No more no less.

Depends.
Are you going to keep God Save The Queen as the national anthem of the United Kingdom, and have a separate one for when only England is involved (e.g sports events)?
I get annoyed when England monopolises the UK national anthem for themselves, and Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have to use something that isn't actually their national anthem.

the national anthem gets changed ocasionaly, and it will be changed afer the deat, or stepping down of the resent Queen HRH Queen Elizabeth II, at which time it will become God Save the King, as it was before Liz came to the thron when her farther was king, so yes it should get changed, but only to King, not to another song.
i get a feeling deep inside when i hear it, and it is part of the countries traditions, dont change it, it is a landmark of britan, and should stay for a long time yet to come!
just because people like another song! i happen to remember being tought 3 verses of it in brownies, yes there is more than one verse! 6 in total!
see the link, in the middle of the page are all 6 verses!

England would not have a countrywide Anthem, super Britain does. honest think approximately regards to the words being with regard to the monarch, yet as long as we live in a Monarchy (that's a factor of a uk!), its particularly suited. Jerusalem has been stated a number of circumstances over the years, yet its irrelevant imho via fact its fairly asserting we could make England a conflict zone, and forget approximately with regard to the the remainder of the GB..... I vow to the my usa is suited (words and melody), yet one verse on my own would not fairly artwork imho, and who ever heard greater advantageous than one verse of an anthem at carrying activities and so on?! yet another well-known advice is Land of wish and Glory (music from Pomp & situation), which has grow to be an unofficial anthem at activities like the Proms. which could be my determination.

I think Jerusalem would be more apt.
I identify with that a lot more than God save the bloody queen.
