I don't know about your friend, but I know someone who was diagnosed with "Multiple Personality Disorder" and to them it was a way of explaining everything that ever happened in their life. From child to adult! Maybe its your friends way of letting you know, without having to apologize, that THIS is why I did what I did to you. I guess you could say an excuse.
Or maybe its their way of getting attention. Kind of like "Hey, look at me, love me, feel sorry for me. I'm sick". But either way, if you are a true friend and you want to be a friend, then either love them for who they are and watch out for what they do. If you notice that every time they do something, they say something to the affect "Oh, I'm sick! That is why...". I hate things like that.
Take a hold of your own life and don't make excuses and instead of listening to a diagnosis as an answer to what you did or who you've become, use it as a tool for healing and coping.

There is no harm in hiding this fact. At the same time telling the whole world is a victory over psychosis. You must appriciate ur friend as she has nothing to be ashamed of.
All of us have some problem - no one is perfect. So why feel guilty / ashamed of it?

Maybe she is crying out for attention or needs to apologize for erratic bad behavior. It's really hard to say...If she has mental issues it could just be that she isn't thinking clearly. Maybe her Dr. wanted her to do it as a way of healing...
I agree with you though, I don't think I would want to tell everyone about it...

Maybe they're looking for a little understanding for their behaviour, which some people couldn't understand before...a little compassion perhaps? Maybe looking for people with the same diagnosis and hoping to find people with the same diagnosis, to share life experiences with...Show some compassion in this case..she is reaching out for love...

It's probably a way of coming to terms with being labelled as a Psychosis sufferer. By saying out loud to people "this is me!", there is no way of denying it and therefore they can accept themself.

Maybe she feels she has to let everybody know what happened because she treated the people she went to school bad and its her way of apologizing to everybody.

Some people want everybody to know such things so that they have an automatic excuse for bad behavior.

Maybe this is their way of healing. The human mind is a mystery.. No one will ever completely understand it.

If anything, I think it just confirms that she is, indeed, psychotic. I feel for her.
