Jesus Christ was and is the Christ. The word Christian is taken from Jesus "Christ" the word Christian means followers of Christ. Now, if you want to get bare bones technical and say that Christ can't be a follower of himself then so be it.

The word Christian means followers of Christ -- Christ is the author and finisher of the Christian faith.

No.

Jesus is the Christ. "Christ" comes from the ancient Koine Greek for "Annointed One". Kings and priests were annointed into their respective offices, so by this title, Jesus' followers were recognizing that Jesus was either the King of the world, or the High Priest of the world, or both.

A "Christian" is somebody who follows the Christ.

Actually Jesus wasn't interested in organizing a religion. That was Saul/Paul who turned it political by going to the Ceasar of Rome and "converting" him.

He was Jewish. His followers are considered Christians. He felt he was/is the messiah of the Hebrew faith.

If my answer was "yes" then that would make no sense, He was a Jew... You need to look up the word "Christain" before asking a question based on "Christianity". It would make better sense to you.
