I don't know anyone who has done a quick weight loss that hasn't seen it jump back on with a horrible vengeance unless they make some permanent changes in diet and level of fitness. You must look at it like this is a "Lifestyle" change. The key is not to get discouraged if it comes back, but to take your momentum and run with it. Start at a realistic level of diet and exercise, 2lbs a month adds up to 24 pounds a year, slow weight loss usually stays off. I recommend to go with the "Slow"!!!!

Skip the fad diets and detox diets. As you've noticed, they don't lead to permanent weight loss. As soon as you start eating "normal" again, you gain back the weight you've lost and often a few more pounds. When you do fad and detox diets, you are eating so few calories that you end up losing muscle. Losing muscle is bad! The more muscle that you have, the more calories that you burn just doing nothing.

Instead of the fad diets, make a lifestyle change. Commit yourself to eating healthy and exercising for life. You should do both cardio and strength exercise for best results. Strength training will help you develop more muscle which will burn more calories on a daily basis. For healthy eating, eat lots of vegetables and fruit. Eat lean protien like chicken and fish. Don't eliminate any food groups. Watch your portion sizes. Enjoy an occassional treat. Just be sensible. You'll lose weight and won't gain it back.

If your normal patterns are what got you overweight to begin with then you can't avoid gaining it back. Fad diets dont work. You need to change your lifestyle.

I guess you would have to try not to return to your previous eating habits. And I recommend you to try to avoid salt in your food (or remove it completely) and any kind of sugar (except for honey). I guarantee, if you eat fresh cooked vegetables and meat without salt and not eat any sweets that you will lose weight.
