1Jesus and his disciples came near to Jerusalem. They came to the village of Bethphage by the hill called the Mount of Olives. Then Jesus sent two of his disciples ahead.

2He said to them, `Go into the village in front of you. As soon as you go in, you will find a donkey for riding, and her young one. They are tied there. Untie them and bring them to me.

3If anyone says anything to you, tell him, "The Lord needs them. He will send them back soon." '

Matthew 21 v1-3

Here he doesn't even ask, he just walks up and takes someone else's donkey. What if some guy wandered by, hopped on your bike and started taking it away and said "Oh don't worry, the Lord needs it, I'll bring it back soon."

He kinda sounds like a cop chasing a bad guy.

"I need this vehicle! Official police business!"

"I need this donkey. Lord's work."

Selnyk,
I always thought that it was a prearranged deal. Like those that expected the Messiah at that time. The man in Luke 2 that had a deal with God that he should not die until he saw the salvation of the Lord arrive? Like that.

It's really something to think that some other than the Pharisee's knew the coming of the Lord was timed, like we do today. They were standing on the world in the right place and expected the savior and knew it by scripture, while the keepers of the Law had their heads up their a$s.

To me that just shows that those with the inspiration of God's Spirit are the ones who knew, while those that knew scripture but didn't have faith knew nothing.

As it happens everyday here on Y!A. With those questions, "Prove your God to me." I keep saying, " He will prove Himself if He wants you. He just doesn't want everybody." I could show you scripture all day long. Archaeological evidence, preach to you, baptize you, but if God's Spirit isn't there for you, you will come away with NOTHING.

He reveals himself to those He wants.

Jesus was against borrowing. That is why he had to give up being a carpenter ( a very good trade back then)and get into the god/human hybrid business. People borrowed his tools and never returned them.

I knew you were going to quote that verse. LOL
That's the part of the bible where Jesus does an immitation of a mob boss or a wild west horse theif. LOL
It doesn't say anywhere in the bible that he sent the donkeys back either.
