I recently saw a movie, where a girl tries to go to the ER cause she's in love with this doctor and everytime she does she inflicts pain upon herself, I mean some real pain. It got me to thinking, why would someone do that? Couldnt there be an easier way to get the hospital stay without it hurting? Any ideas? I mean end up getting the doc's attention without half killing yourself? Cant you be an interesting case without it "hurting".

That sounds pretty desparate to me. Why can't you find another way to get the doctors attention. After all, your just another patient in the er.
