I think that is what my pet parakeet Daisey Sue died of. She let out a large sqauk, eggs started falling out of her all over the place, then she fell off her perch and died. Is that a normal disease for an older female bird?

Oh poor bird. I am sorry for your loss. I think its called EGG BINDING. The poor thing. There was nothing you could do.

she sounds to me like she must have been egg boundfor a while before she actually laid and then died

That is surely a medical oddity and should be discussed with your Avian vet. (if you have one)
