Gram for gram, tobacco causes more damage due to the synthetic additions do it. Marijuana causes a very different type of damage than tobacco. Tobacco attacks the throat, lungs and heart where Marijuana attacks the throat, lungs and brain. Many of the carcinogens in tobacco that do effect the brain, are processed out much easier. Marijuana is oil based and this causes the body to work much harder to cleanse itself, it stays stored in fatty deposits and DOES cause memmory issues due to the shrinking effect it has on synapses. Cognitive ability is hindered. Physically, marijuana would do more damage to the body if it were consumed in the manner cigarettes are, average of a pack a day. Twenty joints a day would cause distressed breathing and greatly diminished cognitive ability. It would also be extremely taxing on the liver and kidneys. Due to it's oily nature, the effects accumulate much more rapidly than that of tobacco.

I think cigarettes are more harmful to the body. All of that nicotine. Blech. Plus marijuana isn't physically addictive - it's all in your mind. But personally I like my brain cells and my lungs so I don't think I would use either.

Cigarettes, completely... if you look at the stats they are way worse for your body than Marijuana and I don't smoke either one of them, but if I did it would be the second one.

Cigarettes, surely.
Butyou must know that 'harmless' marijuana is often a stepping stone to tougher, more dangerous drugs.

Well its been proven that cigarrettes cause cancer. However, medical studies say that doctors are giving marijuana to cancer patients to help them. Not proven to give any disease. The health risks are much greater when smoking cigs than mary jane.Thats my opinion. And for all you smarty pants out there,No i myself do not smoke either one.Good luck God bless:O) (however i have tried both)

You can take Marijuana orally (eg brownies) - does not damage your health just makes you act really stupid and giggle a lot. (If you - while acting stupid - get in a fight with a stronger bloke = healthrisk... )
SMOKING KILLS - narrows your veins, lung cancer, mouth ulcers etc... yech!

Cigarettes are worse as you smoke more of them. Besides they don't even get you HIGH.
