The best thing NOT to do is continue listening to that favorite song over and over and over... Find some friends to hang with, don't DWELL on the ex-girlfriend...do something that will take your mind off of her...unless there is a chance that you will get back together, the best thing you can do is move on with your life...eventually someone new and perhaps better will come along...but not while you're drowning yourself if memories of "what could have been".

It takes time...don't expect to break up one day and the next day you wake up and feel great/happy...it's normal to be sad about a breakup...it means you cared for that person and are not happy that they are no longer in your life (at least not in the way that they were).

Get out and spend time with friends...take up a hobby...do things to distract yourself while your heart heals....and it will, if you let it...remember the relationship ended for a reason and whether it was your idea or hers, apparently you two were not a good match so know that down the road somewhere, you'll meet someone who is a good match and there will be joy and love again...

One day at a time...allow yourself to grieve a bit, but don't bury yourself in it...sometimes what we want isn't what is best for us...move forward and know the sun will shine again...

man...here's a tip..finding another one right away wouldn't make you get over with that ex easily..

it takes a lot of time and patience..read the book entitled "by the river piedra, i sat down and wept"..its nice and it'll teach you a lot of stuff about love..and mending one's broken heart too...
