i saw on the food network, it was the way the baking pans were made back in the day. hotdogs used to be sold by the link from the butcher, not in packages.

maybe when they first starting making dogs they only came in a pack of 8 ive seen majority franks in a pack of 8 i think lykes and bryans have 10 though i dont know seem like it should be just as easy to make more buns and two more in the pack.

yea, I always wanted to know that too. but I do not know why. It seems very odd that there are more hot dogs then buns......the companies are not working together on that one for sure.
