Although they contain a lot of water, the entire cucumber is nutricious. In China, it is cooked with ground pork and is actually good for the digestive system.

It's not the skin itself that's unhealthy, it's the wax that commercial groceries coat the cucumber with that isn't very healthy. Most cucumbers sold in grocery stores are coated with a food-grade wax that helps prevent spoilage and bruising. While the wax is not poisonous and it is technically edible, it's really just a food additive and not a natural part of the cucumber, and you should avoid getting too much of it. Not to mention that it makes the skin tough and chewy and not very tasty.
Washing removes part of ithe wax, but it's really hard to remove ALL of it. Peeling is really best if you are buying cucumbers coated with wax... and if you are you can tell - cucumbers are not naturally shiny!
However, the skin of the cucumber itself is good for you and full of vitamins. If you want to eat the skin, look for cucumbers from organic farmers or farmers markets - they are less likely to be treated with wax.
Or buy "english cucumbers" that are wrapped in plastic and not treated with wax. They are slightly thinner and longer than conventional cucumbers, but they taste just as good and you can eat the tasty skin!

No it's totally false! In the past cucumber skins use to be bitter so that's why they got the bad repute! Many chefs shred cucumber skin and put it in salads or decorate dishes with it! I eat whole cucumbers like some eat apples! Also note just like potatos skin there's more nutrition in the skin than the vegetable itself!

As long as the peeling is washed VERY well, it can be eaten on the cucumber. For people that get gas from cucumbers, eating it with the peeling is best as it has a type of pepsin or something like that to keep the gas from forming so badly.
So, yes, it is ok and yes, it gives you better fiber too.

Not true, remember that when you eat your next kosher dill. However, mango skin has a poison in the skin, some people react just handling the fruit. Somewhat like milkweed, where the sap is bitter and a mild poison.
