Red (Bordeaux) Chateau Haut-Brion (1978) absolutely a sip of heaven. AHHHHH!

Also, red is much, much better for the heart.

Since red wine is practically health food - in moderation, of course, it is always my choice. The cloudier the better - it's the minute fragments of grape skin that make some "unfiltered" red wines cloudy. This is the part with the most polyphenols - antioxidants. It's not too easy to find the cloudy ones so I don't often go out of my way to track them down. Merlot, the old reliable, and Malbec (from Argentina usually) are my favorite varieties. Salud!

My favorite is chardonnay, but it is the only white wine I like. If it were not for that I would have to say red wine.

In summer I used to drink white wine and in winter red, especially mulled wine, which is delicious with a shot of brandy in it. Now I do not drink at all.

Red wine for sweet taste: white for a more formal meal, esp with sea food!
