I have been teaching for 6 years and I never had to deal with any laws.

That is why so much of Martial Arts being taught is sooooo unregulated.

There is some good, some bad, some brilliant some rubbish, some so bad they are just creches for little kids...cola and sweets breaks whilst mum goes to supermarket.

I could buy a suit, a black belt, pay a fee to a registered body and
be teaching with little or no regulation.

BTW i have a full SCRO check ( Scottish Criminal records organisation), and have been to dozens of instructor courses and seminars....but no one has EVER asked to see my qualifications.

I am a 3rd degee blackbet in Taekwondo

need any more info, just ask!

As a Company that deals with Martial Arts Schools I can tell you that there so many laws that have been brought in over the passed six months, it will stop and make you think. You have to be CRB checked if you wish to teach children, is just one of them. If you want to contact me on steveh@efcuk.org.uk I will put you in contact with some of my clients who will advise you. If you are also thinking of starting a school we can help you.

Tricky one this to answer . I have been studying and teaching different styles of martial arts for 40years plus . Specific laws as applied to martial arts i know of none .I think the law of the land covers almost everything .Obviously in the U.K to teach you require insurance to cover liability for injury, also a C.R.B check , but as far as i know not mandatory, although in sports centres this is a requirement . check with your local police station

in our group you have to pass a course, be CRB (criminal records bureau) police checked, passed a first aid course and
have insurance covering it. Also you have to be of a certain age i believe it is 21.
