dachshunds are picky little guys. its ok to mix the wet as long as you are giving dry with it. the kibble is good for their teeth and the wet stuff makes their tummy happy. if you don;t want to feed wet food at all, try soaking the kibble in water first and then drain.

Some dogs have a great deal of difficulty swallowing dry food. Smaller dogs seem to have the worst time, which makes sense as they have much smaller passages to their stomachs and digestive tracts. My in-laws raised doxies for years, and always mixed in a bit of wet food with the dry in order for them to digest comfortably. If you have a nutritional question about this procedure; you should check with your vet. Doxies are adorable, I'll always have a special place in my heart for them! Have a good day!

He will not starve if you don't mix it. He may go a few days without eating but he will eat.

If you want to mix it there is no reason you shouldn't.
