Similar situation, I know how your feeling. Please be reassured that you think you have 'put a lot of effort in'. That is the best you can do, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You will get what you deserve, if that isn't ten A*s then who cares.
Most colleges require 5 GCSEs at A*-C, but it depends on your own deal with your college. However, this is there for a reason, and if you don't pass them maybe taking another year to redo some of them will be of great benefit to you, and will help you to achieve far better in your A levels, than if you did them now and were not ready for them.
Remember there is nothing that you can do in any way, other than pray for good marking etc! I know I also tried my best and therefore am not worried. I also want my effort to pay off, but I will get what I deserve and so will you. The fact is that not everyone is the same, some people will get straight As for minimal effort when others will work very very hard for 3 C grades, that is just how life is. What matters is that you tried your best!
Tell us how you did tomorrow! Good luck, though of course you can't do anything!

Depends what your school sees as acceptable for AS + A Level. I did well in my GCSE grades yet even then I only had the choice of three eventually. Two were my original subjects, and one new one. I went to a grammar school so to take for AS level I had to get B+ in 3 subjects. Some of which I didnt want to take!!
Dont worry, I remember exactly how you feel, I cried all the way to my school. To be pleasantly suprised by it. At the end of the day, all you have to think is I tried my best. GCSEs arent the main ones to worry about really, its Alevels and getting into a uni if you want too. Thats when its hard. Im sure you'll be fine, keep me posted x

The good thing about GCSE's are that they can be re sat. I had to retake my maths way back when, i passed with flying colours. Its always easier the second time. But im sure that you have done really well anyway. Let us know how it went!!

In this day and age they are so much option, I just finished A levels, did not do so good my self, not good enough to get in university anyway. but i am still alive and in this yr i will work toward getting into one next year, if you did not do as good as you expected do not be disappointed its not the end of the world!

My sister gets her esults tommorow, she thinks of it like this : "GCSEs? That was last year! Why do I need to worry?", but seriuosly, did you put work into it? time and effort? If so, you'll do well!
