In recent Lebanese war both killed civilians including children, against international humanitarian rules, and laws of war, with indiscrimate bombing on one side and rockets that could not be precisely aimed on the other. Israel also extensively destroyed Lebanese infrastructure preventing food and medical aid reaching civilians in need.

If you think that short conflict was bad, you need to revisit history. The question that should be asked is what does a free nation do to defend itself against terrorists who hide amongst innocents? Does it fail to defend its people, thus condemning them to death?

The Geneva Conventions are a joke. While they sound nice, think about it for a second. These convestions see war as two opposing armies... With the opposing sides clearly identified. They also assume that everyone will play by the "rules"

War is hell. The Conventions were an attempt to end war.... War will always exist because Men will always try to exploit those who are weaker.

If the weak fail to stand and fight back, the exploiters will win.

how ever Israel purpose was to stop their kidnapped soldiers being taken else where, there is no doubt the Hezbollah would have brought in more rockets to kill Israelis, consequently it wouldn't be a war crime.
the way you have spun the the question is are trying to say that the only reason was Israel to destroy infra structure and kill civilians , this was not the case

Yes, but it is politically incorrect in the U.S, to accuse Israel of war crimes. Whatever Hezbollah did pales in comparison to Israeli massacres and 'collective punishment' against a people that had nothing to do with the conflict.
Shame on Israel! At least they are alleged to be a democratic state that shares Western values. For all the world to see, it doesn't look that way now.

Neither side should face war crimes. The UN should be ignored and countries should do as they see fit without getting "permission" from the UN. "Rules of war" is the stupidist thing ever invented next to the inside the eggshell egg scrambler.

The UN has proven itself to be a huge failure, just like the League of Nations.

Negotiations with terrorists do not work. It requires sanity and a desire for peace to have negotiations work. Radical Islam has neither.

Hizbollah are extremists that are in control of a part of Southern Lebanon. They have killed tens of Israelis in the last few days.
Israel is a democratic country that invaded its neighbour. They have killed hundreds of Lebanese in the last few days.
As Israel should really know better than to be an agressor in a war after the holocaust, its collective government should be forced to live in Beirut for a week or two, That should teach em
