2 sticks margarine
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons warm water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix all ingredients in large skillet. Cook and stir on medium heat until it turns brown. Pour into greased 9x13 pan.
Ritzy Chicken Casserole
INGREDIENTS:
2 sleeves Ritz crackers
1 can cream of chicken soup, or cream of mushroom
1 cup sour cream, regular or reduced fat
1/2 cup chicken broth
4 to 6 boneless chicken breast halves, cooked
4 ounces melted butter, melted
PREPARATION:
Crumble one sleeve of Ritz crackers in the bottom of a 2 to 2 1/2-quart casserole dish. Drizzle half of the melted butter over the crackers. Mix chicken with soup, sour cream, and broth. Pour over crackers.
Crush the remaining sleeve of crackers over the chicken mixture. Drizzle the remaining melted butter over the crackers. Bake at 300° for 30 to 40 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
Serves 6.
Mexican Chicken Casserole
A Mexican chicken casserole recipe with chicken, taco sauce, and seasonings, along with taco chips and cheese.
INGREDIENTS:
4 boneless chicken breast halves, cooked, cubed
1 can tomatoes with green chilies
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can (4 ounces) taco sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 package taco chips or Doritos
1/2 to 3/4 cup grated American cheese, Mexican blend, or Classic Melts blend
PREPARATION:
In a saucepan, combine and heat tomatoes, soups, taco sauce and broth. Line bottom of casserole dish with taco chips. Add mixture of chicken and sauce. Top with grated cheese. Bake at 350° until bubbly and hot.
Serves 4.
Farmhouse Barbecue Muffins
1 tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Separate biscuits into 10 biscuits, flatten into 5 inch circles. Press each into the bottom and up the side of a greased muffin tin; set aside. In a skillet, brown ground beef: drain. In a small bowl mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar,and chilli powder: stir till smooth. Add to meat and mix well. Divide the meat mixture among the biscuit lined muffin cups, using about 1/4 cup for each. Sprinkle withcheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before removing from tin and serving.

Saturday Supper Pie
1 prepared pie crust
1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 cup Monterey Jack cheese
2/3 cup canned pizza sauce
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
In skillet, brown the ground beef and onion, drain. Add the oregano, salt, and pepper, set aside. Beat eggs and milk together, add cheese and meat mixture. Puor into pastry shell. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Remove from oven, pour pizza sauce over top and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Return to oven for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Supper on a Bread Slice
2/3 cup evaporated milk (small can)
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
3/4 teaspoon accent
1/2 cup cracker crumbs
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups of shredded cheese
1 loaf of French bread
Mix all ingredients except cheese together. Cut loaf of French bread in half lenghtwise, spread meat mixture over cut part of bread. Lay bread on aluminum foil, pressing sides of foil up against the bread leaving only the top uncovered. Put cheese ot top of meat. Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Hobo Dinners
To serve four you will need four 1 pound coffee cans
1 pound ground beef
4 medium potatoes
small can green beans
small can carrots
2 onions
4 ears of corn (small), or 2 large ones cut in half
Make the ground beef into four patties, placing in bottom of coffee can. Next slice the potatoes and onions, putting them on top of patty. Drain the green beans and carrots add to the top of rest. Next put the ear of corn, salt and pepper to taste and a pat of butter. Cover can with aliuminum foil, bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Nice thing about this one is you can change the veggies to each person taste.

Tater Tot Casserole
1 pound ground beef
1 package dry onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup (other creamed soups work well also)
1 can Durkees fried onion rings
1 cup shredded cheese
Mix ground beef and onion soup put into bottom of 9x13 pan. Meat will be thin. Pour soup over top of meat, then put a layer of onion rings. Top with tater tots and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove from oven put shredded cheese on top and return to oven for about 10 minutes or until cheese has melted.

Texas Rice and Bean Skillet
1 pound of ground beef
1 large onion chopped
3 cups of water
1 cup of rice uncooked
1 can red kidney beans rinsed and drained
1 can tomato sauce 8 ounces
2 teaspoons chilli powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 large green pepper chopped
Brown onion and ground beef in 12 inch pan, drain off fat. Add water, rice, beans, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Cover tightly and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in green pepper. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed. Serves 6.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 pound milk chocolate
1 1/2 cups Pecans
Butter 8 inch square pan. In saucepan melt the butter. Add sugar and water, blending constantly.
Cook until mixture reaches 300 on a candy thermometer, blend in the Vanilla.
Spread the mixture into pan, Mark into squares with a knife, set aside.
Double Boil the chocolate until melted, remove and stir until smooth,set aside to cool.
When the candy has cooled, spread half the chocolate over the top, sprinkle with half of pecans.
Invert the candy onto waxed paper and pour the remaining chocolate over it, sprinkle with remaining pecans. Cool.

Melt butter, add sugar, cook for 8 min stirring constantly. Take off heat and stir in nuts, pour into 9x13 pan, spread with melted chocolate. Let harden and crack.
No Bake Peanut Butter Cookies
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 c. peanut butter
1 can chow mein noodles
Combine sugar and syrup in a pan on the stove and heat to boiling. Add the peanut butter and chow mein noodles. Mix.Deop by the spoonful on wax paper and refrigerate.

take a can of sweetened condensed milk remove the paper place in a pan of boiling water for 45 minutes take out. let cool and open you have toffee. Saw this on a cooking show on food net work guy helper did it by mistake.

Cooking with young children are you nuts????why not bake cakes then they can mix the ingredients and put it in the paper holders and ice them cooking toffee is a bad bad idea good luck.

I wouldn't make toffee with young children. The sugar gets stupidly hot and it's easy to burn yourself. Trust me on this.
