I think it is just for relaxation away from all the others, and sometimes they feel great just to have acomplished their dreams. They want to somehow just sit together and enjoy to the full themselves since alot is expected from them from their families and friends after the marriage. Weddings plans are also hectic and after all is done with the couple just feels exausted and wants some time alone

To spend some quality time alone. It depends whether they have had an arranged marriage on top of that, it might be for them to get to know each other better.
I know my bro-in-law and his wife had a great time, and she's become pregnant on her honeymoon...

though it may sound bad, but honeymoon is for nonstop sex. In the mean time if the bride is unhappy with sex then she won't be able to run back to her maike due to the lack of money. that's why honeymoon places are choosen quite far from their homes.

Because you're both so stressed from the planning and making sure everything goes off okay for the wedding that you need the time to just get away and enjoy each other with nobody else around.

Because thats what Married Couple's get to do.After they get married. so that they can spend some time alone with you haveing everyone else around.and they can have some private time to them selfs.
