You can believe that he's sorry. Just don't believe that he won't do it again. Even if he thinks he won't, he will. Even if he has the best intentions, and even if he really really loves you. People who react with violence do that instinctively.

Just as soon as something like the original situation comes around again, he'll pop you one. Maybe he'll kill you, or cause a permanent disability. Get out NOW!

Depends. If it is a playful self defence hit out of control (a bit too hard), then nothing to worry about - just let him know to be more careful. If it was an intentional bruising hit (from anger/frustration), then as the others say, leave him, it will only get worse. If it was really bad, get a bigger bf (or ordinary friend/family member), and get him to come around and tie the guy in a knot as lesson.

Yes. I've found that most guys stop hitting around the fifth or seventh time (always on an odd number for some reason). So forgive him this time, and the next four at least, and hopefully he'll stop then.

Of course, you could show yourself a little respect and trade him in for a younger model.

EDIT

Don't listen to invissiman up there, ffs. Once you give in once, you give up your self esteem for good. Take a field trip to a battered womans shelter and get over him with a quart of ben and jerrys or something.

NOT WORTH IT

Everyone can make mistakes, but that's one that is very destructive. My initial thought is for you to get out while it's not too late. If you have been with him awhile and this is the first time it has happened, then let him know that it is the last time it will happen. If you haven't been dating that long, get out because your headed down a road you don't want to travel. Guys can change but not for the same girl. We change for other girls, but not the one we cheated on or hit or verbally abused. Good Luck!

Frankly, no, not without some type of counseling. Men who hit women even once are most likely to also be repeat offenders. However, there are still exceptions, so I would say to give him one chance, but ONE chance ONLY. Don't be a victim. I think any man who hits any woman should have his guts stomped out. Vicious, aren't I? But I have never hit a woman and I never will.

Quite honestly, women have died that have believed that......how many times can he say sorry.....if you want to, go ahead, but next time.....that is it.....no reason to go through life like that....if he says he is sorry again, if he hits you again, tell him he is not, being sorry means saying, and changing....he did that last time, this time, you are making sure it doesn't happen again...and leave him forever

I think it's a bad sign in any relationship where people are hitting each other. Once you go there it's a good indication that it's more about selfishness and not about love. Also, it could get worse I'd say get out while the gettin's good.

No way. This is the first symptom of a person being violent and of domestic violence, also called violence against women. I would run if I found a men that is easy to use his hands to hit me and you should too

Sorry to tell ya but he'll do it again and again and again. They always say they're sorry (and they might actually be), but it doesn't stop them from doing it again. You may not want to hear this, but you need to leave before it gets too rough. Trust me it will.

No. Sweetie if he hit you once he'll hit you again. You deserve better then that. Find your self a GOOD man that won't EVER hit you.
