I always drink diet coke regardless. If I order a salad I will get a diet coke and the same with a pizza, whatever! and some people are diabetic so can't have sugar. Also just because someone is having a burger and fries it does not mean that the person has become fat, obviously your hubby is judgemental of people because of their size, some people are overweight because of medical problems.I am not overweight myself but I do enjoy the odd macdonalds with a diet coke as do thousands of people all over the world!

When I do it its because I hate the taste of real pop. I will only drink diet.

I don't understand why people ask this all the time. Do you really think that people believe they will lose weight by ordering a diet soda with a fast food meal. They don't. But why add 200 more useless calories to an already fat filled unhealthy meal.

Some people drink diet soda and some people prefer regular. That's all there is to it.

Diet coke does not change the fact that you have eaten a burger.

Better than eating a burger and fries and a full sugar coke - I guess...

"Diet" & "Burger" shouldn't actually be in the same sentence!
:-D
I understand that one quite well... I do it myself...

If you have a burger and fries for umpteen hundred calories
...don't add another umpteen hundred by drinking regular cokes!

At least keep the "liquid" calories to a minimum with the diet version beverage!

Logical NO?

And no offense taken! ;-D

My parents are fat and they do the same thing I never knew why, they also buy the large popcorn at theaters, but they say that it has to do with the taste, the drink taste is not that different but the food taste if they were to get a salad they do not like the taste, but I do not know it is wierd I say

I thought this was ridiculous too, until I became one.
It's because 'full-fat' coke tastes different and the vast quantity of sugar leaves a nasty coating in your mouth that makes your teeth squeak.

Because full fat coke is sweet and diet is not. Some people don't like it too sweet.
