12 weeks.
Following infection with HIV, most people (varies between 40-90%) will experience flu-like symptoms after 3 to 6 weeks. This is self-resolving, and known as the early phase of HIV. The HIV antibody will be detectable after about 3 months. The next, middle or chronic phase lasts up to about 10 years (or more with retroviral drugs) in which you will be relatively healthy, apart from the occasional infection, but you will remain infected and infective, and continue to lose your T cells. The final phase is the AIDS in which you get infected by bugs that people with normal immune system can deal with, but with AIDS, you can't and can die if not treated aggressively.
Go talk to your doctor for more detailed information and follow up blood tests and counselling. Until you're all clear (ie negative HIV test), practice safe sex by using condoms/abstaining from sexual activity with others. Good luck.

Protocols say from 3 to 6 months, but since what its actually tested is the antibodies and not the actual virus this information could be available as early as 6 weeks, or be delayed showing a false negative.
