looking at putting on a set of 31 inch tires without lifting the wrangler, and was just wondering if it'll look stupid. Like, will it look 'overtired' ? Or sould it look like they're supposed to look?

The reason is that 31 inch tires are somewhat better on sand that the bicycle tires jeep jut on as standard, and 31 inch tires wont void my warranty, while a 2 inch spring lift will.

No, I have the same thing and it looks fine. the only thing that you really may have to worry about is that the tires will rub the frame when you turn the wheel too far, so when you do this (and I suggest it, it looks cool still, after all, its a JEEP) when you turn the wheel almost all the way, you will hear a gosh awful grinding. I believe that you can fix that though by buying reverse axle wheels. I think that is what they are called. I am actually looking for a set. Wheels that are more out of the wheel wells than in...Good luck! I have a 99 Jeep Wrangler Sport. No lift.

ya i have a rubicon wrangler and it has 31s on it. it didnt do anything to it at all no change in gas milage i still got about 15 intown and 20 on the freeway. however i did do a 2 inch spacer lift on my jeep and i still have my warrenty and they havent said anything about it. ive blown up a u joint after i lifted it and they replaced it for me no questions asked. however im sure if you lifted it more and had to change out a bunch of factory drivetrain parts thats when they dont warrenty it but a 2 inch lift shouldnt do anything its barly noticable unless you put it up against another jeep.

Wider tires are what you need for sand not taller. If you have a 10.5 now get a 12.5 in the same height. Witht he wider foot print you'll stay on top of the sand alot better. Think of a camel, big wide feet for walking on sand. A horse with small round feet sinks right in.

31's are about the max you can fit on a TJ without a lift and 31's are what the rubicon comes with so it will look/sit the same. The rubicon flares are an inch wider so depending on the width of your new tires and rim offset they might stick out a bit.

31's will look okay, but won't leave you much clearance off-road. I would suggest a 2" body lift. It requires no other modifications, and should NOT void your warranty. You will have sufficient clearance to flex the suspension and have a good start for future upgrades.

you may fit 31s in there, yet in case you offroad you'll stuff the tires in the wheelwells. in case you want to bypass higher, evaluate getting a $2 hundred funds advance, which grant you with slightly more desirable suspension clearance. The 31s will then sparkling fairly, and also you'd be able to positioned 32s lower than there (yet back you'll stuff them once you offroad). also save in concepts the flexibility of your axle and the size of your engine. once you've a 2.5L engine, the bigger tires will fee you in skill and highway %...

If you are a sand runner, save some money and just deflate your tires to 8-10lbs of pressure. Its $0.50 to add air at the gas station near the dunes.

Keep smiling!

31-10.5-15's look good without a lift and even with a small lift they look good. Hope I have been helpful.

The look is great. However, make sure that your wheel offset is correct. You will rub your tires against the fenders if you run to wrong combo.

What's the point of beefy tires if everyone knows you don't have the clearance to seriously take your jeep offroad?
